GRMíle maith agaibh gach duine a chabhraigh linn leis an bhfeachtas seo. Tá cruinniú againn anois leis an Roinn Oideachais go luath agus beidh tuilleadh eolais againn i ndiaidh sin.
Thank you to all our parents and representatives for the great help with our “School Building campaign”. We have been invited to a meeting with the Department of Education and we will revert further after that.
Please see response from Minister of Education, Richard Bruton to our recent campaign:
“Update on Gaelscoil na Lochanna as discussed:
I wish to inform you that a building project for Gaelscoil na Lochanna is included in my Department’s 6 Year Capital Programme (2019-2021). My Department is aware of the school’s accommodation needs. Department officials have been liaising with officials from both Wicklow and Kildare County Council for some time now with a view to securing a suitable site for the school. A number of site options were appraised but unfortunately attempts to progress with their acquisition proved unsuccessful. However, the acquisition of an alternative site which is located in Co. Kildare is currently being pursued.
I appreciate that the process is taking a considerable length of time but I can assure you that the acquisition of a suitable site for the school is very active on the programme of site acquisitions and every effort is being made to secure a site as expeditiously as possible. When the site acquisition has been completed, the project will be progressed to architectural planning.
A meeting has been arranged with representatives from the school in order to keep them appraised of the current position.
Given the commercial sensitivities associated with land acquisitions generally I am not in a position to provide further details at this time. “
GRMile folks – I will follow this on soon with a type of wishlist for our school to keep pressure on.
